"One kid's fantasy. One cop's nightmare."
Devon Butler is an eight-year-old boy who dreams of being a cop. He watches police shows on TV and plays cop with his friend Ray. One day he witnesses a murder. He goes to the police who want the information. However, they don't get it until they hire Devon as an agent. He is paired up with veteran (and child hater) Nick McKenna.

Very thin film with a straight forward story full of silly jokes. Reynolds was still doing quite well, but that guy is really annoying and not nice at all. A film that should make you laugh, but unfortunately it hardly succeeded. Quick but forget again shall we say.

If it were possible to put sounds in messages, you could hear a hellish moan right now. Cop and 1/2 is a film that doesn't stand a chance on any level.
The story was clearly conceived on a Sunday morning. It is not only very simple, but also cliché and above all very annoying to follow. Every time the story seems to get stuck, coincidences arise. The black car they keep coming across, 'Bobo' passing haphazardly on his motorbike,..
I don't understand how you can entertain people with this. There's nothing original or quirky about it. The only thing that is increasing is the will to turn off the film.
The acting is pathetic. Especially Golden II (what a name) can't do anything about it. I have no idea how they got to this kid. Maybe they had originally cast Golden I, then a mix-up happened later, who knows. Not only is he completely unbelievable, but he's also very annoying and for the most part pulls the movie itself down. The bad guy, in turn, is horribly shaped. What's the point of all this stuff about singing anyway? Another roll for the trash can. The only actor in whom you could detect a glimmer of hope was Reynolds, but he too is raped by the story and eventually loses his charm. Too bad he has to drag this mess with him during his career.
The directing is certainly no better and even very ugly at times. The most drab locations were chosen, that much is noticeable.
The soundtrack consists of a whole series of annoying songs and the dialogues are nothing to write home about.
And now a bucket of Vodka to flush everything down.
