The impact of the 2023 actor and writer strikes in Hollywood is still being felt in 2024 as many big productions face significant delays.
However, there are still some major, highly-anticipated movies that will be released this year, including Hit Man, starring Glen Powell.
Richard Linklater directed, produced and co-wrote this project, with Powell also contributing to the screenplay, which is based on the 2001 Texas Monthly magazine article of the same name by Skip Hollandsworth.

The official synopsis reads:
'An undercover Houston police officer poses as a reliable hitman to arrest those trying to hire him until he tries to save a woman in need.'
Hit Man stars Glen Powell, Adria Arjona, Austin Amelio, Retta, Sanjay Rao, Even Holtzman, Molly Bernard and Mike Markoff.

When will Hit Man be released?
The release of Hit Man is slightly complicated in that it premiered in the final months of 2023 in a variety of festivals, starting in Venice. At the Toronto International Film Festival, it secured a $20 million purchase from Netflix, who now hold distribution rights.
So, it will be streaming on Netflix soon, but it is also set to receive a theatrical release on a yet-to-be-confirmed date.
It has already received glowing reviews from critics.
