There are big plans for the Ocean's Eleven franchise with another sequel in the pipeline as well as a prequel, but director Steven Soderbergh won't be involved.
Soderbergh directed Ocean's Eleven, Ocean's Twelve and Ocean's Thirteen, with the last of those coming in 2007.
He was subsequently asked by Warner Bros. if he would return to helm another movie in the future, but that won't be happening as he wants to focus on other projects.
"After we made the third movie, I felt like the series was very much concluded for me," he told Variety.
"When the studio approached me to see if I'd be involved in continuing the franchise, I told them no, because it just doesn't feel like a move forward for me.
"I'm chasing something else."
Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in Ocean's Eleven prequel
The Ocean's Eleven prequel starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling is happening and we have some plot details for you.
The pair are coming off their hugely successful collaboration on Barbie, which is officially the highest-grossing movie ever with a female director (Greta Gerwig) at the helm.
The Hollywood Reporter previously detailed how Warner Bros. hopes to reboot the Ocean's 11 franchise with Robbie as the star.
Robbie will star in the new movie as well as produce via her production company LuckyChap, which she shares with her husband Tom Ackerley.
Jay Roach, most famous for his work on the Austin Powers trilogy and Meet the Parents, is slated to direct, and he will also receive a production credit alongside Delirious Media's Michelle Graham.
The prequel will take place in the 1960s which is a deviation from the timeline of the four most recent entries in the franchise.
The original, released in 1960, starred five of the Rat Pack; Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop.
In 2001, a reboot was released and it proved to be one of the most star-studded movies of the noughties, with George Clooney leading the cast as Danny Ocean alongside Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, Elliott Gould, Andy Garcia, Carl Reiner, Bernie Mac, Don Cheadle and Casey Affleck among others.
It was a huge critical and commercial success, grossing $450 million worldwide from a budget of $85m.
Two sequels were produced, Ocean's 12 and Ocean's 13 before the franchise was revamped in 2016 with Ocean's 8.
The new movie will focus on the parents of Danny and Debbie Ocean, played by Robbie and Gosling. They will teach their kids how to steal from the rich which, of course, will set them up for a life of crime which we see in the modern movies.
