Dumb and Dumber is still one of the best comedies of all time for me.
In my opinion they should never have made a sequel, or rather a prequel, but unfortunately this happened anyway. This time, however, without Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, but with two lesser-known actors. The director, Troy Miller, is also different from the Farrely Brothers. Well, if you start watching such a film with somewhat lower expectations, in principle it can only be better than expected. So no. The film is again about Harry and Lloyd and is about the time they first meet. At school, they have to deal with a corrupt headmaster who wants to get a grant for a class of special students that includes Harry and Lloyd.
The actors aren't funny at all, even though they look a lot like Carrey and Daniels. The story is mediocre and the successful jokes can be counted on two fingers. This is quite rubbish and I continue to regret that this film was made at the time.

I really don't understand why people even come up with the idea to make a dumb&dumber without the two real crazy people..for that reason alone half a star...and it also helps that the film is just bad.

I actually found this second part very funny. I can't remember anything from part 1. So can't say which part is worse or better. Just very stupid humor. But very entertaining.
