A movie won't get much worse than this.
If you look carefully at all the points on which De Gulle Minnaar can be judged, then there is little left. The acting is extremely bad. There is little or no story, and the characters hardly represent anything. However, the worst is still the most lousy dubbing, which has given everything a cheap effect.
Despite everything, it still has a bit of charm. It's almost so bad at times, that sometimes it's entertaining to watch. Not that this makes it good, because there are more than enough annoyances, but in one way or another it doesn't get boring and because of this De Gulle Minnaar remains devoid of the lowest possible score despite the many negatives.
